A selection of my own projects from over 30 years – from simple landing pages to complex web applications.
Personal Projects
I have since discontinued many of these projects – keeping up the technical development alongside day-to-day business wasn't sustainable on my own in the long run.
New projects still get added from time to time, whenever an idea tempts me to try something new.
The early projects were built with MODX, Laravel, CodeIgniter, and WordPress. Content and images mostly came via APIs from external providers.
Payment never ran through my own site: the booking flows of the IBEs and shopping systems (including Amazon) always ended at the respective affiliate partner.
I built the first hotel price comparison in Laravel. Back then, provider data (including Expedia, Booking, Hotel.de) still had to be downloaded in full and self-hosted – a cron job updated it once a day.
